DTI R2 drives MSME’s digital transformation via leading e-commerce platforms
In its ongoing effort to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in their digital transformation, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 through the SME Development Division teamed up with Shopee and Peddlr, e-commerce platforms, for the 7th module of the Digital Journey for Micro Enterprises (DJ for ME) on 12 July 2024.
This session delved into capacitating MSMEs on how to build a virtual store and discover the practical strategies and best practices that will help them reach a wider audience, boost sales, and establish a strong online presence.
Through the session, the participants were guided on setting up and managing a virtual store, from selecting the right platform to designing an attractive and user-friendly interface through utilizing the in-app features of Shopee and Peddlr. Moreover, the step-by-step process of navigating the applications was also presented, along with the various market-seller onboarding supports and the benefits of capitalizing on the opportunities that the platforms provide.
Mr. Mikiel Baluyot, Seller Coach of Shopee, and Ms. Pam Lagbas, Go-To-Market Lead of Peddlr, served as resource speakers for the activity.
More than 65 participants, including MSMEs and DTI R2 personnel, participated in the training and provided ideas on better managing and engaging businesses online through other marketing tools readily available for use within the said platforms.
