The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 and Cagayan Provincial Office conducted the second run of its Regional Monitoring and Enforcement Activity on 𝟮𝟮-𝟮𝟯 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 in Aparri and Camalaniugan, Cagayan, respectively, to monitor business establishments’ compliance with fair-trade and consumer-related laws.
A total of 𝟳𝟯 business establishments were monitored, of which two business establishments were issued with Notices of Violation—one for an infraction of the mandatory product standards under Department Administrative Order (DAO) no. 02, series of 2007, and another for accreditation of service and repair enterprises under Presidential Decree No. 1572 as amended by Article 128 of the Republic Act (RA) no. 7394, otherwise known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
Items confiscated include an induction cooker, electric kettles (2.3L), electric kettles (2.0L), rice cookers (1.0L, 1.5L, and 1.8L), and an electric blender (2.0L), with an estimated total value of PHP 42,145.00.
The DTI Region 2 reaffirms its commitment to promoting fair business practices and safeguarding consumer interests. Such monitoring and enforcement efforts are vital to maintaining a level playing field for businesses and ensuring consumer welfare.
