DTI Region 2 Director Leah Pulido Ocampo and DTI R2 Batanes Provincial Director Ellerie Mila G. Ramel met with officers of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Region 2 and PCCI-Batanes on 21 April 2024 at the Amboy Hometel, Chanarian, Basco, Batanes. The meeting aimed to foster collaborations and address significant issues faced by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Batanes.
PCCI Region 2 Governor Gary Ka Hong Chong encouraged PCCI Batanes officers to convene their members and revitalize their organization so that they will be able to help address the issues faced by the MSMEs of the province. Among the topics taken up were enhancing the competitiveness of the MSMEs and stimulating the economy through improved logistics efficiency. Discussions during the meeting also covered continuous public-private partnerships and the role of the business sector in advocating for policies that promote business-friendly regulations.
During the meeting, the President of PCCI’s Batanes Chapter, Mr. Ramonito Imperial, and Board of Trustee member, Mr. Eleazar Gabilo, reaffirmed PCCI’s commitment to supporting the local business community. They also expressed their willingness to collaborate with the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Mentees of the DTI to achieve this goal. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to working together towards shared business development goals.
