CAGAYAN — The DTI R2, in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 02 (DILG-R2), conducted a field validation and assessment of selected LGUs in the region relative to their compliance with the Ease of Doing Business Law (EODB) last 17–19 and 24–25 January 2023.
The objective of the validation activity is to monitor and provide continuous improvement and support with regard to the updates on various laws and issuances, including but not limited to Republic Act 11032, the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Act, in order to facilitate the efficient service delivery of Local Government Units. Eight LGUs were visited by the team of validators, which include the LGUs of San Guillermo, San Mariano, San Mateo, and Jones in Isabela Province; Bambang and Bayombong in Nueva Vizcaya Province; Maddela in Quirino Province; and Sta. Ana in Cagayan.
The validation team was composed of representatives from DILG-R2, DTI-R2, BFP-R2, BPLO of the City of Ilagan, and the City Architect of Cauayan City.
On the part of DTI-R2, TIDS Reiner P. Cardenas focused on the Local Investment and Incentives Code (LIIC) and the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) standing of the LGUs. He provided input and suggestions on how the LGUs can improve their LIICs as well as their CMCI rankings. ♦
