A total of 60 participants and/or members of 15 Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya joined the Strategic Planning Workshop conducted by Oceana Gold Philippines – Didipio Mine under their Social Development and Management Program, in collaboration with the DTI R2 Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office on 5-8 and 12-13 March 2024.

The said activity which was conducted in three sessions in barangays Wangal, Binogawan, and Capisaan, Kasibu, aims to equip the CBOs with the tools and insights necessary to thrive in the business landscape and align their strategies with the evolving market dynamics, ensuring continued relevance and effectiveness.

The participants were composed of farmers, food processors, and 4Ps beneficiaries who were into food processing, selling fresh produce, manufacturing organic fertilizers, lending services, and renting farm equipment, among others.

Through the help of the resource speakers from DTI R2 NV, specifically SBC Jannyn Lafeguera, STIDS Mark Ponce, and TIDS Silvester Miguel, each CBO was able to develop its vision, mission, core values, goals, and actionable plans for 2025 to 2027.

The workshops served as a platform for knowledge exchange, fostering a spirit of innovation and cooperation among participants. By harnessing their collective expertise and insights, the CBOs have not only strengthened their organizational frameworks but also laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth and community development.

“The Strategic Planning Workshops have empowered our community-based organizations with the strategic vision and direction needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. By equipping them with the necessary skills and tools, we are confident that they will continue to drive positive change and make meaningful contributions to the socio-economic landscape of Nueva Vizcaya,” Didipio Mine CRD Officer Nicolle Heinrich Subido said in his message as he explained the importance of the activity.

The success of these workshops underscored the commitment of the Didipio Mine and the Department of Trade and Industry R2 Nueva Vizcaya to fostering inclusive and sustainable development in the province.
