Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo was recognized as Cagayan Valley’s Regional Awardee and a National Semi-Finalist for the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award of the Civil Service Commission’s CY 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers during the Regional Recognition Rites on 14 September 2023, held at the Callao Hall, Go Hotels Plus, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

RD Ocampo went through a rigorous screening and validation process by the Commission. “RD Ocampo’s innovative initiatives have gained traction and had a significant impact on the people we serve. I’m sure she will bring more honor and recognition to DTI in the months to come,” ARD Winston Tan Singun, who nominated RD Ocampo, told the CSC validators. “As public servants, we are supposed to be selfless; it is about delivering service to others with no regard for any personal gain. Our mission in life is to improve the lives of our people, and it is our people that we are ultimately accountable to. Our profession is, by its very nature, public, which means we work for everyone, especially the poorest and the most vulnerable,” RD Ocampo mentioned in her message of appreciation.

With a passion for public service and a desire for service excellence, DTI R2, under the leadership of RD Ocampo, continually designs, develops, and delivers plans and programs to champion MSMEs and consumers across the region.

“The agency has been and always will be committed to its mantra, ‘Serbisyong Higit Pa sa Inaasahan’, and ensures that all endeavors are felt with an impact, which is ultimately the true essence of genuine public service.”

The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is anchored in the Honor Awards Program (HAP) of the CSC, which aims to recognize and provide rewards and incentives for government officials and employees who have exhibited outstanding contributions or commendable work performance.

This occasion is aligned with the celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA). #
