DTI Region 2 Director Leah Pulido Ocampo visited three of the six ROLL IT 2.0 – LETS EAT project sites in Mahatao, Uyugan, and Basco, Batanes on 22 April 2024.

Mayor Pedro Poncio of Mahatao and Mayor Jonathan Nanud, Jr. of Uyugan Towns personally guided RD Ocampo to the ROLL IT sites of their respective municipalities.

Accompanying them were DTI R2 Batanes Provincial Director Ellerie Mila G. Ramel, Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist Meryll A. Hortiz, Negosyo Center Administrative Assistant Analyn M. Villa, Uyugan’s Municipal Agriculture Officer Rolando B. Cabugao, and Mahatao’s Municipal Agriculture Officer Alejandro Camacho Jr.

ROLL IT – LETS EAT is a DTI – DPWH convergence program meaning “Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industry and Trade – Logistics Efficiency and Transport Seamlessness to Enhance Agribusiness Trade.” It focuses on improving road infrastructure along routes that transport food and agribusiness products to markets, manufacturing centers, ports and airports, and logistic facilities such as warehouses.

DTI and DPWH staff conducted joint site inspections and geo-tagging activities before endorsing the identified road projects consisting of 4.5 kilometers and costing Php 227.8 million, which will be included in the 2025 budget allocation.
