Muntinlupa City — The 18th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair (RTF), highlighting the local products of Cagayan Valley, of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) generated over P9 million in sales from 10 to 16 September 2024.

This year’s theme, “Unveiling the Richness of Cagayan Valley’s Lands and Seas: A Fusion of Beauty and Bounty,” brought together 100 MSMEs and local artisans and assisted 2,065 farmers featuring the unique products, services, and vast offerings of Cagayan Valley that reached a total of PHP 9,897,777 for booked, cash, and under-negotiation sales, both physically and digitally through Mayani.ph and paddaynalima.com powered by Deliver-E.

The Regional Trade Fair which is implemented annually aims to showcase and provide exposure for Cagayan Valley’s new and improved products and help local MSMEs and farmers market their products and produce locally and internationally.

During the opening ceremony, DTI Region 2 Director, Ma. Sofia G. Narag, proudly presented the bounty of Region 2, and said that, “Cagayan Valley is more than just a land of stunning landscapes. It is a vibrant hub brimming with diverse products crafted by our talented MSMEs.”

The weeklong event included business-to-business (B2B) matching, food tasting, wine tasting, product demonstration, fashion shows, and fun and games highlighting the unique delicacies and products of Cagayan Valley

RLGV Fruit Wine Industry from the Province of Isabela and Four H Handicraft from the Province of Nueva Vizcaya recorded the highest total sales in the food and non-food sectors, respectively.

Among the prominent figures who expressed their invaluable support to the Regional Trade Fair, uplifting Region 2 MSMEs in their important role in the economy were Senator Loren Legarda, ASec. Domingo R. Tolentino, Jr. of the DTI Special Concerns Office, and ASec. Grace F. Baluyan of the DTI Regional Operations Group.

The sales underscored the unending support of institutional buyers (DTC Promos; MAYANI PH; ISKAPARATE; INSIGHTSCS (Insight Supply Chain Solutions); Tesoros Philippines Handicrafts; Kareila Management Corp; Delivery-E; Curaytive Farms; PromoCentral Inc.; SGS Philippines Inc.; Forturo Foods Manufacturing Plant; 1Export; Intellicare; Balikbayan Handicrafts), DTI R2 Regional and Provincial Key Officials, OTOP Philippines and in partnership with P/LGUs and their representatives (Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya), DOT Region 2, CVAARRD, Festival Mall, LGU Muntinlupa, STEPS Dance Troupe of ISU, the House of Balified Styling Studio, and among others.

“Padday Na Lima” is an Ybanag vernacular that means “made by hands” or “hand-crafted. This has been the agency’s flagship for marketing and promoting the best of Region 2’s products. ♦
