Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya — As part of the three-year strategic plan and continuous efforts to improve the NVAT Fresh Online Platform, the DTI – Digital Philippines Group led by Undersecretary Mary Jean T. Pacheco, in collaboration with USAID-SPEED, Insight SCS, and the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) Inc., conducted an onboarding session for the Value Added Service Providers, particularly Ninja Van Philippines, Agro-Digital PH, Airspeed, and Air21 on 2 July 2024 at Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Launched on 31 August 2023, the NVAT Fresh Online is a scalable, cloud-based, business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce marketplace platform. It is designed to facilitate transactions within the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) ecosystem, improving access and efficiency for farmers, traders, and buyers.
This activity was conducted as part of the efforts to improve the platform, specifically on logistics.
Aside from discussing the background of NVAT and the NVAT Fresh Online Platform, the DTI also shared information on the proposed plans/steps on how to go about the improvement of the platform.
The parties involved agreed to (a) conduct a needs analysis with NVAT to identify elements such as a simple accounting system and inventory monitoring for integration onto the platform; (b) develop a separate logistics e-marketplace for warehouse/storage services distinct from delivery services; (c) gather rate schedules from service providers for each delivery segment (first mile, mid-mile, last mile) to establish base prices for farmers and use this data to develop accreditation requirements that include produce specialty filters; (d) establish hubs in Metro Manila for buying and pickup locations to reduce freight costs; and (e) focus on accreditation requirements for the upcoming meetings, among others.
Some farmers, traders, and NVAT officials also joined this activity, which was facilitated with the assistance of Team DTI R2 Nueva Vizcaya led by Provincial Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao.
Stay tuned for “Fresh” updates as we continue to work in support of the government’s program for food security and resiliency. ♦
