Cabarroguis, Quirino — Quirino Province mounts the Bamboo Crafts and Bamboo Species Exhibit on June 03 to 11, 2024 at Capitol Gymnasium, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
Various bamboo products are displayed, from hand-crafted hanging lamps, table lamps, decorative bilao, and bamboo hats to wood replacement products- like bamboo floorboard, vinyl, columns, panels, and bamboo charcoal briquette.
DOST-Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) showcases their Research and Development (R&D) outputs on bamboo textiles specifically bamboo yarns and fabrics that are used in the manufacture of bags, shoes, clothing, and other fashion accessories.
Different bamboo species with economic value are also showcased in the event.
The exhibit promotes bamboo’s unlimited potential, encouraging local constituents to embark on purposeful bamboo planting and growing, and venture into innovative value-adding activities.
Furthermore, it is part of this year’s World Environment Celebration to highlight the relevance of bamboo in climate change mitigation as well as the provision of livelihood and job opportunities for everyone.
Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, Congresswoman Midy N. Cua, Former Congressman Junie E. Cua, and Former Congresswoman Mary Angela E. Cua together with the entire officialdom of the Provincial Government of Quirino, and local bamboo stakeholders graced the opening of the exhibit on June 3, 2024, during the Alay sa Masa event of the Provincial Government of Quirino.
The exhibit was initiated by the Provincial Government of Quirino in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry R2 Quirino Provincial Office. ♦
