To go over updates and track the program’s performance in fostering agribusiness growth in the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs), DTI R2 Assistant Regional Director Winston Singun and the Regional and Provincial Coordinators of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) participated in the DTI-CARP National Convention held at the 1898 Hotel Colonia En Las Filipinas, Makati City, on 4-6 September 2023.
The event with the theme “Tatlumpu’t Limang Taong Masaganang Ani,” initiated by the DTI-CARP Program Management Office, aimed at assessing the performance of the 15 regions implementing the program and tracking the progress, challenges, and impact of enterprise development and technical and industry support on the Agrarian Reform Program Organizations (ARBOs) and beneficiaries.
The activity covered the ways forward for the program under the Negosyo Agraryo framework and the presentations of each region, focusing on the accomplishments and breakthroughs and the physical and financial targets for 2023. The participants also joined in the different lectures, workshops, knowledge sharing, team building, health and wellness, and fellowship activities.
To date, DTI R2-CARP has assisted 142 MSMEs, generating 2,180 jobs. This has resulted in Php54 million in investments and a total sale of approximately Php104 million.
Meanwhile, R2 coordinators continuously carry out the program directives, focusing on its services in technology transfer, productivity enhancement, product development, market matching, trade fair participation, and purposeful B2B marketing with institutional buyers. ♦
