MAUBAN, QUEZON — On May 8, 2023, DTI Quezon, through Negosyo Center Mauban, conducted an on-site visit to the LGU Mauban Nutribun facility in Balaybalay, Mauban, Quezon, in response to a request made by the LGU for packaging and labeling assistance on May 3, 2023. The visitation was attended by Municipal Mayor Erwin Pastrana, PESO Manager Mr. Jenzo Pastrana, Ms. Amy Barnes from MSWDO, DTI Quezon Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, Chief of Business Development Division Anna Marie V. Quincina, Trade Industry Development Specialist and Trade Promotion Officer Honeylee Eclavea, and Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Mauban, Nicole P. Lleva.

The primary objective of this visit was to assess the facility’s compliance readiness with FDA regulations, which is a crucial requirement for the LGU to qualify for the One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) Program. Additionally, the team aimed to arrange a personal meeting with the designated authority to gain a comprehensive understanding of the LGU’s current packaging and labeling requirements for Nutribun products and their future plans to ensure compliance.

Following the meeting with Ms. Amy, it was determined that the facility has been designed by DOST and is presently undergoing registration with the FDA. The DTI team will work in coordination with DOST to ensure that their efforts to provide assistance to the LGU Nutribun do not overlap.

The LGU Mauban’s Nutribun product is set to undergo an assessment with the One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) program during the final week of this month.
