MORONG, RIZAL – On August 23, 2023 the Department of Trade and Industry – Rizal conducted the first session of the sixth module for the Collaborative Harnessing Assistance and Mentoring Program for SMEs (CHAMPS) which focused on the basics of accounting for MSMEs. The webinar was attended by the beneficiaries of the mentoring program in Rizal. Negosyo Center Morong Business Counselor Leah Mae L. Clemente was the facilitator of the webinar.

The program was graced by DTI Rizal STIDS Marlene G. De Luna who delivered the opening remarks for the program. STIDS De Luna gave a brief recap of the previous module topics and expressed her hopes that the CHAMPS beneficiaries absorb and implement what they have learned in the program towards their business operations.

Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship Accredited Mentor and Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Ernie D. Tano, served as the expert resource person for the webinar session. His comprehensive presentation tackled the different types of financial statements, accounting cycles, and systematic processes of recording income and expense transactions. Mr. Tano also shared sample illustrations of different business transactions and how it is treated and visualized in financial statements. He ended his presentation by responding to inquiries from participants.

The webinar was positively received by the participating CHAMPS beneficiaries during the session. ♦
