Calamba, Laguna—In a continuous effort to uplift communities and foster economic growth, the Department of Trade and Industry’s Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna), together with the Department of Labor and Employment’s office in Laguna (DOLE Laguna), held a seminar on “Guiding Start-Up Businesses cum Consumer Education” for informal settlers across various cities and municipalities in the province.

The seminar gathered 43 participants with diverse businesses from sectors including retail, service, and manufacturing. It covered essential topics such as business ideation, planning, basic bookkeeping, and consumer education.

Recognizing consumer education to be vital to the success of any business, the DTI also integrated sessions on consumer rights and responsibilities. The seminar ensured that the future business owners are well-informed through the promotion of ethical business practices and consumer trust in the local market.

Further, Negosyo Center Business Counselors delivered expert guidance, providing participants practical advice and referrals to the DTI’s shared service facilities for aspiring manufacturers. The seminar underscores the DTI and DOLE’s commitment to economic empowerment and consumer education as catalysts for community and poverty alleviation. ♦
