In a concerted effort to enhance the entrepreneurial landscape in Laguna, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna, in partnership with CARD MRI Development Institute Inc. (CMDI), hosted a highly informative seminar on August 12, 2024. Held at the CMDI Facility in Brgy. Tranca, Bay, Laguna, the event attracted 38 participants from the institute, all eager to expand their knowledge and improve their business practices.

The seminar was meticulously designed to address pivotal topics essential for the successful management and growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of Business Licensing, which is crucial for navigating the regulatory landscape of starting and running a business. Understanding the legalities of business operations was a key focus, ensuring that both potential and existing business owners are well-informed about compliance requirements.

Another significant portion of the seminar was dedicated to the 6S of Good Housekeeping. This methodology, which includes Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety, was explored in depth to help businesses maintain workplace efficiency and foster a productive environment. The 6S principles are designed to streamline operations and improve overall business performance, which participants found highly beneficial.

Additionally, the seminar provided valuable insights into the various programs and services offered by DTI. This included information on financial assistance, training opportunities, and other support mechanisms available to MSMEs. By familiarizing participants with these resources, DTI aims to ensure that businesses are aware of the support systems designed to aid their growth and development.

Furthermore, Consumer Education was another vital topic covered during the seminar. Educating business owners about consumer rights and effective customer service practices was emphasized as a means to build trust and loyalty in the marketplace. Understanding consumer needs and maintaining high standards of service can significantly impact a business’s success and sustainability.

The event was marked by interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, and Q&A sessions, allowing participants to engage directly with experts and gain hands-on experience. The collaborative nature of the seminar fostered a supportive learning environment, where attendees could share experiences and seek advice tailored to their specific needs.

Feedback from participants highlighted the seminar’s effectiveness in delivering actionable insights and practical knowledge. Many expressed appreciation for the comprehensive approach taken, which addressed both foundational business concepts and advanced strategies for growth.

The successful completion of this seminar underscores the ongoing commitment of DTI-Laguna and CMDI to support and empower the local business community. By equipping MSEs with the necessary tools and information, this initiative plays a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Laguna.

As both organizations continue their collaborative efforts, they remain dedicated to providing valuable resources and support to businesses, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the challenges of today’s dynamic market. (JCMDrueco, DTI-Laguna) ♦
