082224_DTI-Laguna Conducts Seminar on Online Marketing for Sari-Sari Stores Empowering Cavinti Local Retailers

Cavinti, Laguna — On July 24, 2024, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) through Negosyo Center Cavinti in partnership with the Local Government of Cavinti successfully conducted the second module of the DTI Tindahan Mo E-Level Up Mo Sari-Sari Store Advancement Program entitled “E-Level Up ang Online Marketing”. This seminar is designed for sari-sari store owners and anyone involved in running a small retail business who is interested in expanding their knowledge of online marketing and leveraging digital platforms to grow their business.

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome from DTI Undersecretary Ed Sunico, who highlighted the growing importance of online marketing for small businesses. Attendees were introduced to the fundamental concepts of online marketing, including the creation of a professional online presence and the significance of it on their businesses.

Mr. Wence Wenceslao from Unilever shared effective strategies on engaging with customers through digital marketing. The seminar also explored the integration of e-commerce into sari-sari stores. Ms. Leah Topacio and Ms. Raisa Palabasan of Nestle Philippines Inc. demonstrated practical steps for setting up an online storefront and gave ideas on creating videos and how to effectively engage with their customers. They also shared steps on how to become an affiliate of nestle products. Lastly, Ms. Riva Yap from Tiktok Shop PH highlighted that TikTok Shop represents a significant opportunity for sari-sari store owners to showcase their products in a dynamic and interactive environment.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where attendees had the opportunity to address specific challenges and seek advice from the speakers. Overall, the seminar provided sari-sari store owners with the tools and confidence to use the digital landscape, setting the stage for future growth and success in the online marketplace.

A total of twenty-one (21) sari-sari store owners from different barangays in Cavinti attended the aforementioned seminar. In addition, the business counsellor discussed the programs and services offered by the Department and encouraged the participants to join the third module of the Tindahan Mo E-Level Up Mo Sari-Sari Store Advancement Program to be held on August 28, 2024 (RSPalentinos, DTI-Laguna). ♦
