Victoria, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) through Negosyo Center Pagsanjan and in collaboration with the OTOP Next Gen Program successfully conducted a webinar titled “Awareness on FDA-LTO and CPR Application Procedures.” The event was held via Zoom on August 9, 2024.
The webinar aimed to provide information on how to comply with government standards and regulations to ensure food quality and safety.
A total of thirty-four (34) MSMEs in the food industry attended the said webinar. The topic on the License to Operate Application Process was discussed by Ms. Joan P. Molina, RPM, Food-Drug Regulation Officer I of the Food and Drug Administration. Molina outlined the procedures for obtaining, renewing, and modifying a License to Operate (LTO). She also discussed efforts to improve and simplify the FDA’s processes, including automating the system to meet the processing time requirements set by RA 11031, which specifies time limits based on the complexity of the transaction.
It was then followed by the discussion of Certificate of Product Registration Application Procedures by Ms. Honey Lee E. Lanorio, RND, Food-Drug Regulation Officer III of the Food and Drug Administration. Lanorio discussed the products that need a Certificate of Product Registration. She also discussed the different product classifications, application requirements, and how to secure CPR for food products using E-Portal.
The webinar proved to be highly educational, and a variety of questions were raised for candid conversations that assisted MSMEs in voicing concerns about product certification and application (LMMalabanan, DTI Laguna). ♦
