DTI-Laguna Holds 3-Day Diskwento Caravans in Liliw, Laguna

Victoria, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Liliw (LGU Liliw), Puregold Price Club, Inc. (Alaminos, Colago, Avenue, San Pablo and M. Paulino Street, San Pablo City Branches), Eostre Farm, and Alibungbungan Farmers Association of Nagcarlan, held a 3-day series of Diskwento Caravan in conjunction with the annual Business One-Stop Shop Permits and Licensing Activity of LGU Liliw on February 2 to 4, 2024 in Liliw, Laguna.

For the 3-day period, more than half a million pesos sales was generated and around 1,000 consumers availed of and benefitted from the Diskwento Caravan services.

The aim of the activity is to provide reasonably priced quality products to our dear clients. These basic and prime commodities are priced lower than their suggested retail prices during the Diskwento Caravan. Some items are being sold in packs in order to provide savings to consumers.

At the end of the 3-day activity, the constituents of Liliw, Laguna, were given the opportunity to avail of low-priced processed/manufactured products straight from the production/processing/manufacturing plants/farms in the Philippines. The people were happy that, during the event, products were made available in factory prices. They observed that these are even lower than the prices at the biggest public and private markets.

Through the years, the Department of Trade and Industry has been conducting Diskwento Caravans nationwide as part of the agency’s initiative. Conduct of Diskwento Caravan1 is in partnership with the manufacturers and distributors of basic necessities and prime commodities in the Philippines.

As a rolling store, Diskwento Caravan is a good venue for producers and manufacturers to sell agricultural and manufactured basic and prime commodities directly to consumers. With a sufficient supply of affordable basic and prime commodities, the markets are brought closer to the consumers.
