VICTORIA, LAGUNA – The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through its Consumer Protection Division (CPD), conducted an onsite assessment for the DTI Bagwis Awards on August 21, 2024, in Santa Cruz, Laguna. This regular evaluation aimed to identify retail establishments deserving of recognition for their commitment to responsible and truthful business practices.

During the assessment, DTI-Laguna CPD Personnel conducted on-the-spot inspections, observed operations, and interviewed the store manager and staff. They also provided briefings on the Consumer Act of the Philippines and other fair-trade laws, as well as an orientation on the DTI Bagwis Program.

The DTI Bagwis Program, formerly known as the DTI Certified Business Establishment Program, was launched in July 2006. The Bagwis Seal of Excellence is awarded to businesses that demonstrate fairness and honesty in providing goods and services, as well as those offering quality and safe products at affordable prices.

Retail establishments in Laguna, including groceries, supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, and DTI-accredited service and repair shops, are eligible and encouraged to participate in the DTI Bagwis Program.
