VICTORIA, LAGUNA – The Consumer Protection Division of the Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) has collaborated with several government entities to launch the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” (KNP) on September 20, 2024, in Kalayaan Laguna.
The KNP initiative is a key component of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s eight-point socioeconomic strategy, which seeks to improve food security, create jobs, and speed poverty reduction. The Local Government Unit of Kalayaan led by Hon. Mayor Sandy Laganapan and Hon. Vice Mayor Christopher Ramiro, along with representatives from partner agencies including the Department of Agriculture, DTI, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Department of Labor and Employment, celebrated the occasion and participated in the said event.
As a testament to the government’s commitment to meeting the needs of every Filipino, the community joined together to commemorate this important celebration. A spokesperson said at the opening comments that “Kadiwa ng Pangulo is our ultimate effort to uplift our communities and ensure food security for everyone.”
In line with this initiative, a Diskwento Caravan was also set up in the area which gave two hundred seventy-five (275) people from three (3) barangays assistance and access to reduced cost of goods.
With its focus on creating new markets for the community and giving consumers easy access to reasonably price of agricultural goods, basic needs, and so on, the KNP hopes to improve communities, promote economic growth, and improve the lives of millions of Filipinos.
