DTI-Laguna, Partner Agencies Launch Kadiwa ng Pangulo in Support of San Pedro City Sampaguita Festival

San Pedro City – The Sampaguita Festival 2024 is a celebration of life and community spirit and a profound homage to San Pedrense. This year’s theme “Sampaguita ang Puso ng Pagkakaisa” embodied the essence of unity that the Sampaguita symbolizes, bringing the community together to honor the lifestyle, culture, and tradition and celebrating the people’s collective identity and harmony.

This weeklong festival, which will happen from May 1 to 5, 2024, includes various activities ranging from cultural to sports, arts and music festival, trade fairs, amateur singing contests, parades, historical exhibits, social and religious gatherings, tribal dances, street dances, cheering competitions, and sport exhibitions.

To showcase its collective efforts leading to meaningful progress, projects, and opportunities for all, the City Government of San Pedro, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), Department of Agriculture – Agribusiness & Marketing Assistance Division (DA-AMAD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), organized Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) on May 4, 2024 at San Pedro City Plaza.

The Kadiwa program is a farm-to-consumer market chain that eliminates intermediaries. It aimed to enhance access and affordability of agricultural products and essential commodities, allowing local producers to generate higher income by selling their produce directly to consumers.

In line with DTI-Laguna’s commitment and support to the initiative, Diskwento Caravan was organized in partnership with Universal Robina Corporation and Queen Ester Supermarket. In addition, three (3) microentrepreneurs participated in the trade fair — String Beads, Scent Box, and CL Shop Lokal. A designated Negosyo Center desk was also placed to provide business counseling and consultancy services to potential and existing microentrepreneurs (NMRepol, DTI-Laguna). ♦
