DTI Quezon And Catalyste+ Strengthen Wellness Options Through Business Coaching And Mentoring

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon Provincial Office, in collaboration with Catalyste+, successfully conducted the Business Mentoring and Coaching Program for Dinggo Thelma Enterprises, also known as Wellness Options. The program took place from April 1 to April 15, 2024, facilitated by Mr. Olivier Pellegrin, Senior Advisor, with the goal of improving the business strategies, operations, and overall performance of the business.

On April 1, 2024, the entry meeting convened stakeholders, including Ms. Anna Marie V. Quincina, Chief Trade Industry Development Specialist; Mr. Erwin L. Altamarino, Catalyste+ Project Officer; Mr. Olivier Pellegrin, Senior Advisor; and Ms. Marianne Marie Adornado, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Lucban, to initiate the collaboration. Representatives from Dinggo Thelma Enterprises, including Ms. Anselma L. Laguador, Mr. Dominggo Laguador, and Ms. Djanz Alyssa L. De Jesus, were actively involved in discussions outlining roles, goals, and expectations. 

During the first week of the mentorship, Mr. Pellegrin provided extensive guidance to Wellness Options, focusing on developing the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Organizational Chart. Additionally, they explored Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste, aiming to boost efficiency and save costs. Value Stream Mapping was also covered to identify areas for enhancement and optimize workflow. Mr. Pellegrin also underscored the significance of the sixteen (16) personality test in refining recruitment processes and better workplace communication. In the subsequent week, the focus shifted towards essential financial aspects, including financial management, costing, pricing strategies, and eMarketing. Moreover, Mr. Pellegrin provided recommendations for the layout of Wellness Option’s new facility, emphasizing the importance of maximizing space utilization and system efficiency. Furthermore, he proposed a new brand name aligned with their values and target audience. During the concluding session, they discussed the pivotal role of the team handbook in ensuring that all team members comprehend company policies, procedures, and expectations.

On April 15, 2024, the exit meeting concluded the mentorship program. Mr. Pellegrin, along with representatives from Catalyste+ and DTI, reviewed the progress made by Wellness Option and discussed future action plans. They reflected on achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, providing recommendations for ongoing improvement and offering continued support. The meeting was attended by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, CESO V, of DTI Quezon; Ms. Anna Marie V. Quincina, Chief Trade Industry Development Specialist; Mr. Erwin L. Altamarino, Catalyste+ Project Officer; Mr. Olivier Pellegrin; Ms. Marianne Marie Adornado, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Lucban, and the owners of Wellness Options.

Through this collaborative effort, Wellness Options has acquired the tools and knowledge needed to improve their business strategies and operations. With the guidance of Catalyste+ and the DTI Quezon, Wellness Options is ready to succeed in their market and help boost the local economy. ♦
