On May 03, 2023 the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Rizal through Negosyo Center (NC) Cainta conducted the fourth session of Youth Entrepreneurship Program “Building Initiatives with DTI in Assisting Budding Entrepreneurs to Succeed thru 7Ms” with the topic on Basic Accounting via Zoom Application and on Facebook Live private group.

The webinar was attended by students from various schools and universities and existing MSMEs nationwide.

Atty. Jocelle E. Batapa-Sigue, Under Secretary of ICT Industry Development, DICT, graced the event. Usec. Jocelle emphasized digitalization on her inspirational message and how the youth can contribute in policy making. She mentioned also the upcoming program of DICT which is the “Generation Connect Philippines” wherein it will focus on the ideas of the youth all over the country.

Moving on, the discussion was led by Dr. Ernie Tano, an Accredited Mentor from the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, who shared his expertise in Basic Accounting. Mr. Tano discussed the different financial statements which are very useful to the entrepreneurs. Dr. Ernie highlighted the data needed on each financial report. He gave also samples on how to input the daily transactions of a business to get an equal balance sheet.

Afterwards, Dr. Tano accommodated and answered questions gracefully raised by the participants who listened attentively and actively from the discussion.

For the closing remarks, Ms. Marlene De Luna, Senior Trade and Industry Specialist of DTI Rizal gave her gratitude to the resource speaker and assured the participants for more webinars like this.
