May 18, 2023 – DTI Rizal thru Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) successfully conducted Information Caravan on Republic Act 11524 also known as Coconut farmers and Industry Trust Fund at the Ynares Covered Court of Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City. Major component of the activity is the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) facilitated by University of the Philippines Institute for Small Scale Industries (UP-ISSI) led by Ms. Joanna Rose Laddaran, Head of the Program Development Cluster.
It was attended by farmers from the upland sitios of Barangay Calawis. Aside from farmers, barangay personnel also attended representing the stakeholders. Philippine Coconut Authority Agriculturist Mr. Allan George Gutierrez was also in attendance.
Three (3) breakout groups during FGD shared and discussed issues and concerns of the coconut industry of the City of Antipolo. Furthermore, the FGD showed insightful situation of the province’ coconut industry. Ms. Sharon F. Dioco, Division Chief of Business Development and currently OIC-PD, led the DTI Rizal Team. ♦
