SAN ANTONIO, QUEZON — The Department of Trade and Industry through Negosyo Center (NC) San Antonio, in cooperation with the Local Government of San Antonio, Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, and Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture, and Arts Section of San Antonio, conducted the “Financial Literacy Training” last May 5, 2023, at Sangguniang Bayan Hall, Barangay Poblacion, San Antonio, Quezon. The training intends to help MSMEs learn how to assess their financial reports and develop plans to increase their financial stability, particularly with regard to inventories and receivables. As well as to know and practice the technical know-how in profit planning.
During the registration, DTI Consumer Care videos were played to continuously educate the MSMEs as consumers against unethical business practices. It was a four-hour event where Mr. Gene Emil A. Dela Cruz, a Certified Public Accountant, was invited as the resource speaker for the training. He heartfully discussed and shared several pieces of information about the fundamentals of financial statements and different techniques for identifying business margin levels that help entrepreneurs build and implement sound investment decisions. Attendees were enlightened and dense with information and techniques that they could also use in their everyday lives.
The program was attended by a total of 42 participants (14 MSMEs and 28 potential entrepreneurs). Minimum health standard protocols were observed during the duration of the activity. ♦
