Alamino, Laguna – The local government unit of Alaminos, Laguna, showed its support for the nationwide launch of KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) on November 8, 2024, by setting up market stalls and booths, known as “KADIWA Stores,” in front of the Alaminos Municipal Hall in Alaminos, Laguna. The stalls operated from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the said date.

KADIWA, or “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita” ng Pangulo, is a program aimed at giving consumers access to high-quality, affordable goods by directly connecting them with farmers, fisherfolk, and micro-enterprises.
The KNP was successfully launched through the combined efforts of the Department of Agriculture and its partners—the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of the Interior and Local Government, as well as relevant departments within the Alaminos Local Government Unit.

It benefits farmers, fisherfolk, and micro-entrepreneurs by providing direct access to consumers in densely populated areas. This approach allows them to capture a significantly larger share of the value chain, leading to higher incomes. Additionally, local micro, small, and medium enterprises were given the opportunity to showcase their products to the community, becoming a source of local pride.

As part of DTI-Laguna’s commitment to supporting the initiative, a Diskwento Caravan was organized in partnership with Puregold-Alaminos, Laguna, Fly-Ace, and Generika. Additionally, five microentrepreneurs took part in the trade fair: 3-A Footwear, Jaymin Footwear, Ultimate Sams Herbs, La Tranchera Café, and Eff Footwear.
Some of the customers were the employees of the Alaminos Municipal Hall, students and teachers from nearby schools, and local residents of Alaminos. Additionally, shoppers visiting after hearing about KNP in the area were also seen onsite. ♦
