Following the guidelines outlined in the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01-2016, a post-joint inspection was carried out in several barangays, including Daungan, Polo, Lual Poblacion, and Sadsaran. From April 20 to May 11, 2023, the Joint Inspection Team (JIT) inspected the establishments, starting with medium- and large-scale businesses before proceeding to micro- and small-scale businesses from the Poblacion area.
The team conducting the inspection consists of representatives from various regulatory offices, including the BPLO, DTI Negosyo Center (NC) – Mauban, Engineering Office, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC), Sanitary Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and Treasurer’s Office.
During the inspection, the JIT inspected a total of 100 registered business establishments. NC Mauban Business Counselor Nicole P. Lleva verified the validity of the DTI certificates as well as the distribution of application forms to businesses that were soon to expire and ready for renewal. Moreover, Ms. Lleva explained the programs and services of DTI to the business owners.
In addition, other regulatory offices inspected each establishment to verify that they had obtained the necessary occupancy permit and displayed all relevant certificates and permits on their premises. These inspections also provide an opportunity for the JIT to help business owners address any concerns they may have about complying with the requirements. This inspection will run from April to June 2023. ♦
